A message from the guy in charge.

Hi, everyone! And welcome to the Cartoon Information Warehouse! The site is set to debut 01/01/10 and will contain primarily written summaries of episodes and in-depth screenshot galleries, but will also have some show information and more! In the meantime, check out below and read up on some blasts from the past information, which is just a very, very small sample of what's to come!

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Alf: The Animated Series
Character ImageYep, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective had its own animated series. It spanned 3 seasons and ended in a 2-part crossover episode with another Jim Carrey movie-turned-animated-show, The Mask. Dumb and Dumber became the third and final Carrey movie to spin off into an animated counterpart. Character ImageGordon Shumway, otherwise known as ALF (Alien Life Form) from the live-action series with the same name, was the star of 2 separate animated shows; Alf: The Animated Series and Alf Tales which took popular Earth-based fairy tales and had them retold using pals from Melmac.
Angry Beavers
Back to the Future
Character ImageAngry Beavers centered around 2 brother beavers, Daggett and Norbert, and their general adventures living as roommates in a dam in the woods. The show was on its 5th season when it was dealing with a controversy wherein parents thought a bleeped word was covering up a swear word but was in fact covering "shut up." Character ImageThe Back to the Future cartoon picked up roughly where the movie trilogy left off but centered on Doc Brown and his new family leaving Marty McFly as a background character. Each episode revolved around a trip through time using either the DeLorean or the steam-powered locomotive time machine and running into various characters' ancestors.
Beetlejuice
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures
Character ImageDespite the way the movie played out, the Beetlejuice cartoon saw the lead character and Lydia now as friends. Adventures would switch between the land of the dead where Beetlejuice lived and dealt with his accentric group of neighbors and the real world. Character ImageAnother movie spun off into its own animated series, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures was unique in that each of its 2 seasons were done for different channels using different animation styles and different voice actors. The first of which had Keanu Reaves, Alex Winter, and George Carlin reprising their roles.
Clerks: The Series
Count Duckula
Character ImageWith only 2 episodes airing on ABC before it was cancelled, the Clerks cartoon was unable to find its niche. Problems started at test screening when the adult audience didn't like the dulled-down humor and ABC didn't feel it fit with the rest of their programming. It found cult success on DVD and was later broadcast in its entirety on Adult Swim. Character ImageCount Duckula, a vegetarian duck vampire, was a spin-off from the show Danger Mouse where he was a villain in a couple of episodes. Most episodes involved his assistant Igor trying to get him to do evil while a vampire hunter tried to kill him.
Earthworm Jim
Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling
Character Image2 seasons of Earthworm Jim made it to the airwaves. The humor of the games was evident and some situations directly correlated (like the cow landing on various people at the end of episodes, an homage to the end of the second game) and most of the major villains of the game appeared. Character ImageHulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling was an attempt to bring the increasing popularity of the WWF to a children's audience. The show had the 'Faces' and the 'Heels' (good and bad guys respectively) squaring off in standard Saturday morning fashion. The show began to falter in part because Heels and Faces would switch sides in the WWF before episodes of the cartoon aired and the pairing would no longer match the live-action WWF universe.
Mega Man
Megas XLR
Character ImageBased on the popular Nintendo game franchise, Mega Man fought most of the classic villains from the games. A heavier roll was added to original background characters like Mega Man's sister Roll and Proto Man. One episode near the end of the second and final season entitled The Mega X had Mega Man X from the corresponding franchise come back in time. Character ImageMegas XLR, as stated by the creators, was a show where you watch 'a big, fat, screaming idiot driving a giant robot.' The premise had the show's main protagonist Coop find a robot from the future in a junkyard and fix it up. He proceeds to fight other giant robots and aliens while spoofing Japanese animated shows like Sailor Moon and Robotech and destroying much of the city he's in each time.
ProStars
Sam and Max: Freelance Police
Character ImageProStars was a show originally intended to air on ESPN but they changed their minds at the last minute, which led to NBC airing it instead. It had 3 prominent sports stars of the time, Bo Jackson, Wayne Gretsky, and Michael Jordon, using high-tech gadgets to fight crime in an eco-friendly show. Character ImageSam and Max: Freelance Police is an animated version of the popular games and comic books by Steve Purcell. It revolved around a giant dog, Sam, and his partner fuzzy bunny-thing Max as they solve off-beat crimes in an even more off-beat way.
Sonic X
Spider-Man: The Animated Series
Character ImageComing around the time that Sega would have claimed bankruptcy, they sold the rights to make a Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon and before the first episode even aired in Japan there were international bidding wars for the rights to air the show in other countries. The show had Sonic and pals from their universe pulled into the real world, along with Dr. Robotnic. Character ImageThe second-longest running Marvel character cartoon to date, Spider-Man: The Animated Series lasted for 65 episodes over 5 seasons. The show was incredibly well received, though there were a lot of character and situation changes from the comic universe that needed to be made based on a list of Fox's censorship regulations at the time.
Star Trek: The Animated Series
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
Character ImageUsing the original cast (minus Walter Koenig's Chekov character due to budget constraints) the Star Trek cartoon furthered the adventures of the crew of the USS Enterprise. 2 new characters were added to the show, M'Ress and Arex, a couple of alien crew members. There were also a couple notable character appearances from the original series such as Mark Leonard reprising his role of Sarek, Spock's father. Character ImageThe first incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came with a lot of changes from the origins to make the show more of a campy, kid-friendly piece. The Turtles were fitted with different colored headbands to more easily differentiate one another and the stories had a much more Saturday morning feel than the darker comic book from which it came. It lasted for an unprecedented 10 seasons before ultimately being cancelled.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003)
The Wuzzles
Character ImageThe newer version of the show from 2003 brought the Turtles closer to their origins. The series was much darker, both visually and story-wise, and directly pulled situations and storylines from the original comics. Due to parental concerns, however, the show took a turn toward a more family-friendly atmosphere with having most of the darker 5th season unaired and switching to the Fast Forward storyline and ultimately Back to the Sewers storyline. Character ImageThe Wuzzles, a show about characters that were half one animal and half another, was the shortest-running Disney cartoon ever, attributed to the death of Bill Scott that voiced Moosel on the show. It only aired for 1 season consisting of 13 episodes but went on to play major franchising roles in merchandise and children's books.
X-men
Character ImageAfter numerous failed attempts to get a show based on a pilot titled Pryde of the X-men, the animated series finally found backing around the same time as Batman: The Animated Series and become one of the highest-rated Saturday morning cartoons of all time. With 5 seasons and 72 episodes it is still the longest-running animated Marvel production to date.
